Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla JovovichDespite not having released any details regarding the cast or even its director to media outlets, Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth theatrical installment in the franchise, will begin filming in late September in Toronto.

Thanks to the increasingly pervasive Twitter, we learned via Production Weekly that “Resident Evil: Afterlife is scheduled to begin an 8-week shoot September 28th at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto.

Milla should be returning as Alice, especially considering her partner Paul W.S. Anderson penned the script, but nothing’s been confirmed. Other casting rumors (from IMDB, so take them with a grain of salt) include Jensen Ackles, Jason O’Mara (who appeared in RE: Extinction), and Johnny Messner (The Poker Club).

Sony Pictures will be distributing the film, scheduled for a September 10, 2010, release, so no doubt we’ll be hearing something more definitive soon.
