Jason Statham Set for the Blitz

Jason Statham has been known to dabble on the fringes of our genre (we’ll just keep quiet about Ghosts of Mars, okay), and he’s in talks to do so once again by tackling a psychopath for Lionsgate UK.
Variety reports that Statham is in the final negotiation stages to star in Blitz, a thriller which would find everyone’s favorite cranked up hero pursuing a psychopath who targets cops.
If signed, Statham will play a tough, uncompromising cop assigned the task of tracking down the killer. Paddy Considine will play his partner. Nathan Parker wrote the script; Elliott Lester is directing.
If all goes well, the project will begin lensing on August 10th in London.
