Although the Young Adult craze is certainly losing steam, it still has some life left in it yet. Case in point: The trailer for the film adaptation of Rick Yancy’s alien invasion novel The 5th Wave has gone online, and you can watch it right here
The official synopsis on the film’s Facebook page is as follows:
In the new film The 5th Wave, four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, 16-year-old Cassie (Chloë Grace Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal fifth wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him.
Directed by The Disappearance of Alice Creed’s J. Blakeson, the film stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Liev Schreiber, Alex Roe, and Nick Robinson and will open in wide release on January 15, 2016.
