New Stills: Giallo and Coffin Rock

New stills came our way today for two of the films playing this year’s Film 4 FrightFest, and what good would we be if we didn’t get them to you post haste?!?

The first is from Dario Argento’s Giallo, which is playing the festival on Saturday, August 29th, at 7:00PM.

From Dario Argento, the undisputed Master of Italian horror, comes a startling thriller sporting a title referring to the genre of sex-studded violence he popularized in the 1970s with THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE. After being abandoned by his junkie prostitute mother at birth, the disfigured serial maniac known as Yellow chooses his victims based on their beauty. Fashion model Celine is his latest prey. When her sister Linda reports Celine missing she’s sent to Inspector Avolfi – who has made it his mission to bring Yellow to justice. Then Yellow sees Linda…

Next up is a look at Rupert Glasson’s Coffin Rock, which will be playing the festival on Sunday, August 30th, at 3:30PM

From the producer of WOLF CREEK and writer/director Rupert Glasson making his feature debut comes a skilfully woven tale of palpable unease and gripping suspense. In the small coastal town of Coffin Rock, Rob and Jess live an almost idyllic life, their relationship marred only by their inability to have children. In a weak moment Jess sleeps with a stranger and later learns she’s pregnant. But the shocking truth is Evan targeted her the moment she walked into the fertility clinic where he worked. Now Jess’ guilt turns to full-blown horror as Evan begins a petrifying transformation from menacing stalker to unhinged psychopath.

damn it! you’d think they’d have had a much better poster for the “italian master of horror” wouldn’t you? that really iritates me. does this spell disaster for Giallo, a film I was actually quite interested in? I can only sell my soul to the devil (if I haven’t already) and hope not.

    • The Woman In Black

Too bad they didn’t stick with their early concept art (see it here). It kicked this new poster’s ass.
