Gold Circle Gets a New Daughter

When are people going to learn: When you’re buying real estate somewhere, especially in a rural area, you have to do your research to make sure you’re nowhere near an ancient burial mound; otherwise, you’re just asking for trouble.

Such was not the case for the main character in John Connolly’s short story “The New Daughter”, which Gold Circle Films announced via Variety this morning that they will fully finance the filming of, working from a script by John Travis. The script for The New Daughter tells of a father who moves into a new home in rural Illinois near a burial mound that may be the cause of his daughter’s increasingly erratic behavior.

Though no director has been named, it seems as though the project will be moving forward quickly. Gary Oldman recently optioned Travis’ supernatural script Redwood to produce and star in, so the writer’s work is definitely in demand all of a sudden.
