Living the American Zombie Dream

So ever since shortly before its premiere at Slamdance I’ve been hearing rumblings across the ‘net about a film from director Grace Lee called American Zombie. To be honest, at first I didn’t pay a lot of attention because my God am I sick of indie zombie movies, but recently I’ve been hearing more and more details that make it sound a bit more interesting than your standard low-budget gut-muncher.
Simply put, American Zombie is the tale of a group of the undead who are trying to make their homes in Los Angeles, which is really the only place on Earth (well, maybe New York, too) where you could actually get away with being undead. Grace Lee has made a mockumentary of sorts about being a rotting cannibal and the prejudice that comes along with it, and it sounds pretty damn entertaining.
Bloody Disgusting got their paws on about 5 minutes from the movie that should serve as a good indication of what we’ll be in for when the film finds release here in the States. You can also click here for the film’s trailer or check out the official American Zombie site to see even more!
