It’s a New Moon for Jackson Rathbone

It's a New Moon for Jackson RathboneI know how much the Dread Central community loves their Twilight news, which is why I’m proud to deliver the latest straight from the mouth of actor Jackson Rathbone, better known as Jasper Cullen in both Twilight (review here) and its upcoming sequel, New Moon.

Rathbone recently spoke to Shock Till You Drop about the much anticipated follow-up: “We have a bigger budget, we have a little more pressure to keep that feeling going, but the nice thing is that you’re delving more into the story now with ‘New Moon’,” he said. “As the films progress, you get deeper into the lore and the mythical world you’re establishing with the werewolves and get more into what the werewolf society and legacy is. It keeps getting deeper.”

Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass) takes over the directorial reigns from Catherine Hardwicke and Rathbone told Shock there was no discernible difference between the filmmakers. “In terms of having a new director, nothing really changed too much. It was just a different subtle vibe, because the director manages the energy on set. It was great. We all wanted to come together and make another great piece of art for the fans. It’s really about what they want to see, because they’re the ones buying the tickets.”

So there ya have it! Look for New Moon in theaters on November 20, 2009, and we’ll keep you updated on all things related to sparkling vampires between now and then.

I admit I thought Twilight was okay. Far from making me want to rush out and see New Moon. But I do like werewolves. It’s sad that the werewolves in this thing are shapeshifters and not werewolves in the Dog Soldiers sense.

Also check out this picture I found on the werewolf dude Jacob. Rather funny. http://www.literalremains.com/?p=1378
