A Look At the Trick ‘r Treat Graphic Novel

It’s a real bummer to see how Warner Bros. is treating Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat – a movie that many horror fans have been hoping would get a theatrical release one of these Octobers.

But with a Blu-ray/DVD release imminently locked for this Halloween, it seems like we’ll be premiering the horror anthology in the privacy of our own homes (at least you eliminate the risk of obnoxious moviegoers this way). Not the ideal experiences, but at least we’ll finally see the damn thing. And in the meantime Dougherty talked to /Film about the tie-in comic book, due to hit stores in early October:

I grew up on old horror comics, and they were a huge inspiration for Trick ‘r Treat, so it’s been great working with DC and WildStorm to keep the anthology genre alive while also giving people a sneak peek at some of the twisted fun they’ll see in the movie.

Everything about Trick ‘r Treat looks like a blast, the comic included. We’ll find out this fall if Warner made a mistake in banishing this to video hell.
