Corey Haim Meets The Girl

Corey Haim Meets The GirlJust in case you missed his contribution to Lost Boys – The Tribe (it was, after all, after the credits), Corey Haim is locked and ready to star in another genre offering, this one for first-time director Travis Bowen.

According to, Haim will appear alongside Friday the 13th alumni CJ Graham, Ari Lehman, Warrington Gillette, and Ron Millkie in The Girl, a slasher flick about vacationing friends stalked by the titular character (Playboy model Lisa Neeld).

“The movie is really like a ‘Friday The 13th’ movie,” says Bowen of the project, “but with the killer being an attractive woman instead of a big guy in a hockey mask. It’s her story in the beginning of the movie, and then it becomes about a group of friends on a vacation being stalked and hunted by her. The story ends with a good twist at the end, and the movie sets itself up for a sequel.”

While these things don’t usually work out too well when a franchise is planned from the beginning, it’s officially on my radar. Solid slasher flicks are getting harder and harder to come by, and I’ll be hoping that Bowen can deliver the gory goods.

Heh. I know what titular means, but it’s just funny in this particular case.

Maybe Warrington Gillette will get thrown through a window.

Also, with the rampant success of RZ’s (Hell Yeah) Halloween, does this mean many future slashers are going to be loaded with “convention regular” casts? Shouldn’t rabid dread folk be flaming already?
