It’s a premise that never gets old. Killin’ Nazis! And beginning June 3, you’re going to have the opportunity to mount up and start huntin’ because Wolfenstein 3D is heading back to the consoles for more bloodshed!
Today Activision Publishing and ID Software have announced plans to bring the classic shooter Wolfenstein 3D to the Xbox Arcade and the Playstation Network. 360 users will get first dibs on June 3 while PS3 owners will have to wait an extra day to continue the carnage.
For the uninitiated, Wolfenstein 3D offers players a chance to experience the intensity of escaping from Castle Wolfenstein all over again. Classic enemies like Hans Grosse and Mecha-Hitler await players in the six episodes that span 60 levels. Wolfenstein 3D is rated M by the ESRB for Animated Blood and Gore and Animated Violence.
Sure it’s a bit dated by today’s standards, but we’ve gotta preserve the classics for future generations. Besides, you’re not truly a gamer until you’ve finished off Mecha-Hitler, trust me.
