Stone In Talks For Helter Skelter

Oliver Stone in talks for Helter Skelter reduxOliver Stone hasn’t been on much of a winning streak lately, but today brings us rumblings of a project that might just suit the director’s frenzied style.

Variety says Stone has been in talks with Vincent Bugliosi, prosecuting attorney and author of Helter Skelter, to bring the writer’s chronicle of the Manson Family murder spree to the big screen. While the trade doesn’t seem thrilled with the prospect of Stone chronicling the murder of five people during the summer of 1969, the grim subject matter could be the topic of an interesting film a la David Fincher’s Zodiac.

Check back for the latest on this project.

  • Lonestarr

This story is absolutely %100 NOT TRUE! “Helter Skelter” is being set up at Warner Bros. through Vincent Bugliosi himself and his partner Kurt Fethke for quite some time now, even though Stone is not a bad candidate for this type of material. Other options are being considered however.
This is how bad internet rumors get started…with wishful thinking on someone’s part.

I’m cool with Ollie doing this, but I seriously doubt anyone can nail Manson the way Railsback did in the original. Still to this day it’s one of the eeriest performances I’ve ever seen.

Yep, she speak truth. Railsback nailed Manson 100 percent, I just hope Ollie doesn’t sensationalize Manson and his followers. Hard to believe the goofy old man we see these days was scary at some time in his life.
