First Look: Piranha “Fish Tank”

Our man on the scene Roger Galloway just reported in to us and Bloody Disgusting from the set of Alexandre Aja’s Piranha 3D in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with some exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the movie’s “fish tank”!

It’s thought to be the largest fish tank ever built for a movie — holding over one million gallons(!) of water. You just have to see this thing to believe it!

Dig it by watching the video below, and look for more exclusive stuff from Roger on Piranha in the coming days!

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

The amount of water used here is really not that much. They’re also paying for the water, which means they’re paying all the appropriate usage taxes, etc.

A million gallons is a lot of water… even one gallon is a lot when you’re thirsty!

As much as I am REALLY looking forward to this film, my heart sort of sinks a bit (no pun intended) when I think of all the clean water going to be used here, and all the people in the world who struggle to find any. It seems such a waste…

Water waste is a huge issue for any place that thinks they have enough but it is one of those things that as individuals we can make changes that help. A million gallons for this movie really isn’t all that much.

I would like to know what they do with something like this after the movie. You can’t help but think there is some plan in place and I doubt it’s a giant piranha tank.

Well, unless Arizona has been tapped to take the Guantanamo guys and their Republican legislature is feeling somewhat creative.
