Niles’ Wake The Dead Thwarted by a Hobbit

According to MTV’s Splash Page, Steve (30 Days of Night) Niles’ Wake The Dead has been delayed by work being done for The Hobbit, which is being directed by Guillermo (Hellboy) Del Toro and is slated for a 2012 release.

A contemporary take on the Frankenstein tale, Wake The Dead‘s character designs are being handled by the WETA Workshop, which is continuing its work in the world of J.R.R. Tolkien on the highly anticipated Hobbit films as they did for the entire Lord of The Rings trilogy. While delayed, Niles says everyone involved with Wake The Dead remains absolutely committed to seeing the project through to fruition, including its attached director Jay Russell.
