NBC Adds Insult to Injury: Hannibal Moving to Saturdays

Even after showrunner Bryan Fuller took the high road and complimented NBC during the “Hannibal” panel at San Diego Comic-Con for sticking by the series as long as it did, the network is still not done pissing off its fans. The powers-that-be will be moving the low-rated Thursday pairing of “Aquarius” (which was miraculously renewed) and “Hannibal” over to the Saturday night graveyard, replacing them with the popular “Dateline Saturday Mystery” crime franchise.

The advanced schedule shows the timeslot swap taking place in early August, but insiders confirmed to Variety today that the move is effective immediately so be sure to check your local listings this week.

Last week the first-year Charles Manson-themed drama “Aquarius” and third-year “Hannibal” both delivered tiny 0.4 ratings in adults 18-49, while “Dateline” did double that (0.8) on Saturday.

“Hannibal” Episode 3.07 – “Digestivo” (7/18/15?; 10-11 PM)
MASON VERGER RECEIVES A SPECIAL DELIVERY — Captured in Italy by police on Mason Verger’s payroll, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) are delivered to Muskrat Farm to await Mason’s (guest star Joe Anderson) revenge.

Alana (Caroline Dhavernas), distressed that Will has been endangered along with Hannibal, plots a rescue; and Hannibal, once again in contact with his old patient Margot (guest star Katharine Isabelle),  finds it irresistible to remind her that Mason will never make good on his promises.

Meanwhile, Jack (Laurence Fishburne) informs Chiyoh (Tao Okamoto) of Hannibal’s location.
