#SDCC15: New Photos from Westworld; Trailer Shown but Not Yet Released

Attendees of the “Person of Interest” panel at the San Diego Comic-Con got a surprise treat in the form of a first-look trailer for HBO”s upcoming “Westworld.” Why them, you might ask? Because Jonathan Nolan is the exec producer of both!
Here’s a quick description of the video, which still needs some tweaking before being released, from zap2it (who says it shows how dark Nolan and his team are planning to go). We also have four new pictures to share from @HBO on Twitter.
“Do you want to wake up from this dream, Delores?” a mysterious voiceover asks a distressed robot who seems to be held hostage in a dark room.
“Yes. I’m terrified,” Delores [Evan Rachel Wood] answers, only to have the same mysterious voice answer, “There’s no reason to be terrified as long as you answer my questions.”
The rest of the trailer is flashing images of what Delores would probably look like if she were human and the Western aura of “Westworld.” As the images grow darker with varying degrees of bloodshed, it becomes clear that Westworld is much more out of a nightmare than any John Wayne movie.
Anthony Hopkins appears very briefly at the end, clearly the ring leader of the terror that is happening.
“Westworld” is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin. The one-hour drama features Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan, and Simon Quarterman.
Jonathan Nolan serves as executive producer/writer/director; Lisa Joy is executive producer/writer; executive producers are J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk; co-executive producer Kathy Lingg; producer Athena Wickham; and co-producer Susie Ekins. The series is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions, and Kilter Films in association with Warner Bros. Television.
“Westworld,” premiering in 2016, is inspired by the film of the same name, written and directed by Michael Crichton.
