Clash of the Titans Remake Adds Three to Cast

Clash of the Titans Remake Adds Three to CastOkay, so I will be the first to admit that I am getting kind of tired of the endless remake films that seems to be plaguing Hollywood these days. However, I must say that I am a little more than intrigued by the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures remake of the1981 legendary classic Clash of the Titans.

THR reported that the new Titans, which is being helmed by Louis Leterrier (2008’s The Incredible Hulk, the very underrated Unleashed), has added Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale), Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) and Alexa Davalos (The Mist) to the cast which already includes Sam Worthington (Rogue, Terminator: Salvation) as the valiant Perseus who must battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda.

Mikkelsen is set to play Draco, who assists Perseus on his quest. Arterton will take on the role of Io, who is instrumental in bringing the winged horse Pegasus to Perseus and Davalos has been cast as Andromeda, the damsel in distress.

Filming is set to begin late this spring, and since there are a lot more characters involved with Clash of the Titans, I am sure more casting news will be on its way soon!

Well, Incredible Hulk kicked all kinds of ass, so this might have a chance.

Finally, a news update on the movie. Clash of the Titans is one of the very few movies that I WANTED to see get remade. It was one of my favorite films as a kid and will always hold a special place in my heart but the f/x is extremely outdated. No young kid could possibly sit through it after getting spoiled with Lord of the Rings type movies. This will open up a great story for a new generation of kids and I cannot wait to see how amazing the special effects turn out.

Clash of the Titans is one of my dearly beloved childhood movies. I don’t think anything could top the Harryhausen effects or the pure magic I felt when I saw it in the theater all those years ago.
That being said, I might just check this one out. No matter how good or terrible it turns out to be, it can never hold a candle to nor tarnish the original.
