#SDCC15: BMI’s The Character of Music Panel to Feature Legendary Horror Composers

Although some people may not realize it, the music that accompanies their favorite genre flicks is instrumental in generating mood, atmosphere, and tension. For this horror geek, a great score is just as essential as solid direction and strong performances. Without it, you’re missing a significant piece of the cinematic puzzle.
Those who love the music that accompanies their favorite horror movies — or movie scores in general — should definitely pay attention to BMI’s “The Character of Music” panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con. To celebrate their fifth year at the annual event, BMI have assembled a number of legendary composers who have contributed to the world of horror.
Included among the scheduled guests are Richard Band (Re-Animator), Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th), Laura Karpman (Carrie), and Tyler Bates (Dawn of the Dead). Given the amount of talent slated to attend, it should make for a lively and interesting conversation.
