Kyle MacLachlan Thinks Twin Peaks Is Nothing Short of Amazing

Kyle MacLachlan certainly knows a thing or two about the mysterious world of “Twin Peaks.” Not only does he star as Agent Dale Cooper in the beloved TV series, he’s also close, personal friends with series co-creator David Lynch. When MacLachlan says that the upcoming season of “Twin Peaks” is “amazing,” it’s reason enough for fans to sit up and take notice.
During a chat with the folks over at Deadline, MacLachlan discussed his character on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” his love of Wes Anderson, and the upcoming season of “Twin Peaks.” And while he didn’t give us any juicy info regarding what direction the new season will take, he did reveal that filming should begin sometime between September and October of this year. He also talked about why he’s excited to suit up as Agent Dale Cooper once again.
“I was very excited for two reasons really. One is the character of Dale Cooper, which is a lot of fun and the world of Twin Peaks. Secondly, the chance to work with David again because we haven’t worked together as actor/director for 25 years roughly. So it’s been a while. I missed that relationship very much,” MacLachlan explained during the interview.
The actor stopped short of revealing his first impressions of the upcoming “Twin Peaks” season, but he does sound excited about the project, saying, “I have read a couple, but I can’t share anything with you. I would love to, believe me. I can certainly say without hesitation it’s going to be amazing.”
Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” will run for 18 episodes, all of which will feature Lynch at the helm.
