James Wan Producing Feature Length Expansion of Scary Short Lights Out

There are some short films that hit the net and immediately make an impression, almost becoming viral sensations here in the horror community. David F. Sandberg’s Lights Out is one of those shorts, and we’re happy to report that it’s headed for the big screen. Read on!

Per Variety, New Line has just tapped Sandberg to direct a feature film adaptation of his spooky short, and James Wan has come on board to produce. Eric A. Heisserer (The Thing, Final Destination 5) will pen the screenplay based on the 2013 short.

The story centers on a supernatural entity attacking a family with one of the members required to step up to protect them from a threat that can be seen only when the lights go out.

Young actor Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle, “Stalker”) is attached to star.
