In typical fashion, the studios are “Hollywoodizing” the fuck out of this story. The previews barely resemble the Haunting in Connecticut I remember seeing on tv a few years ago. It would be so nice if just once a movie studio decided to stick strictly to the source material so the audience doesn’t quickly dismiss the film as far-fetched bullshit, which is so often the case.

Once Hollywood sinks it’s teeth into a haunted house story, it quickly goes from plausable to give-me-a-fucking-break in the blink of an eye, then they pass it off as “based on real events”.

You know, all a film needs in order to claim something is “based on a true story” is 10% of the actual true story. They can do whatever they want with the rest. Lame.

News flash: Hollywood straying from “the source material” of these haunted house stories are no different than most of the real life people who fabricated them to begin with.

As long as the movie is good, who honestly cares?
