Etheria Film Night 2015 Pictorial Report

Etheria Film Night (formerly Viscera Festival) took place at the historical Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, CA., on Saturday, June 14, 2015. On hand were its tireless team members Heidi Honeycutt (founder), Stacy Hammon and Kayley Viteo. There were also several stars in attendance, female filmmakers, and lovers of cinema from all over the world.

First up was the feature presentation, an Australian slow burn thriller with a supernatural twist.

(2014, 84 minutes, Australia)
Written and Directed by Ursula Dabrowsky

We were also treated to a sneak peek at Axelle Carolyn’s Tales of Halloween segment.

After that, there was a wonderful reception in the decorative courtyard of the Egyptian Theater and the red carpet strut which showcased the lovely ladies being honored – Jane Espenson, the Etheria Inspiration Award recipient, was especially fun. The writer-producer is best known for her work on TV shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, and Once Upon a Time.

Once appetites were satisfied and schmooze time maximized, it was time for us to head into the theater to watch the short films.

Untold Story of WWE: UNDERTAKER Revealed In New Graphic Novel

BOOM! Studios and WWE announced an all-new original graphic novel today called WWE: Undertaker. The comic will explore the career of the legendary Superstar, considered one of the greatest performers in WWE history.

For the first time, novelist, journalist, and combat sports expert Chad Dundas (Champion of the World) and artist Rodrigo Lorenzo (WWE) chronicle the unrivaled career of Undertaker, with new revelations and surprises about some of the most pivotal moments in his more than twenty-five year history in sports entertainment.

I was 12 years old in 1990 when Undertaker debuted in WWE, and from the moment I saw him, he was my guy,” said writer Chad Dundas. “I responded immediately, not only to his obvious physical attributes but the character development and storytelling that made him such a unique figure in the WWE landscape.”

I’m so happy that I was chosen to draw this story for so many reasons,” said Rodrigo Lorenzo. “Since I was a kid, Undertaker has been my favorite WWE Superstar and it’s flattering that BOOM! Studios and WWE chose me to bring the legend of the Undertaker to life in their first original graphic novel.”

WWE: Undertaker features cover art by Oliver Barrett.

There’s only one ‘Phenom’ in the history of WWE, so when we were considering whose story to tell in the first WWE original graphic novel, there was only one answer: Undertaker,” said Eric Harburn, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Working closely with our partners at WWE has allowed us to go deeper into the history of Undertaker than you’ve ever gone before, with revelations that span his decades-long career.”

Digital copies can be purchased from comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and the BOOM! Studios app. Print copies hit comic shops, bookstores, and the BOOM! Studios webstore October 2018.

Will Director Andrew Stanton Return for STRANGER THINGS 3?

Monday we brought you the killer news that the third season of Netflix’s original series Stranger Things had begun filming and today we have more updates!

First off, the new season will run 8-episodes with producer Shawn Levy telling Collider Stranger Things 3 will be back down to the original season’s 8-episode run, following season two’s 10-episodes.

Levy also let us know if Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E) will be back in the director’s chair this season…and it doesn’t look like it… Weak.

No, you know what,” Levy said. “We had some schedule issues trying to figure out how to bring Andrew back, because we were beyond thrilled with him as a human being and his episodes. So the only answer I can give you today is it’s not Stanton, though we very much hope to keep him in the director club of Stranger Things as we move on to other seasons.”

Stanton is one of my favorite directors so this news kinda bums me out. What do you think? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Strangers Things seasons 1 & 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.
