Band Remaking Puppet Master in 3D?

Consider this proof positive that everyone has jumped on the 3D bandwagon. News broke today that the infamous Charles Band will dusting off the Puppet Master series by giving it an overhaul.
Bloody Disgusting learned today that Band is looking to remake the film, and that he wants it to be in 3D.
While this is by no means earth shattering news, I think the Puppet Master series might actually benefit from this medium. Imagine the lil screw-headed guy barreling out of the screen. Or, it can end up being as torturous as the last several sequels, in which case it might be better if Band just lined up fans and threw toys at them himself.
We shall see.
