Finally! Night of the Comet!

Now this is some very cool DVD news indeed! Davis DVD found out that MGM finally has plans to release the cult favorite Night of the Comet on DVD come March 6th!
No disc details have been thrown out there yet, but fans have been waiting so freaking long for this thing I’m sure no one’s going to bitch too much if it’s bare bones. Obviously we’re going to hold out hope for a feature-strewn edition just in case.
The very, very strange movie tells of an apocalypse that hits when a comet passes by the Earth. Two sisters are seemingly the only survivors, having to fend off zombie-like mutants and creepy scientists. This is one of those films that’s been mentioned in the same breath as Fred Dekker’s Monster Squad and Night of the Creeps for years now as long overdue DVDs, and we’ve heard rumblings that the latter two might be on their way soon as well…
As if that weren’t enough, MGM also has plans to release another cult favorite, Solarbabies, on the same day. Another bizarre post-apocalyptic movie, this one is about a group of teens who escape an evil orphanage with the help of a special orb on their way to find true freedom. No specs for that one either, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we do!
Wonder what we’ll do when all the good films are out on DVD in our forums!
