I Know How Many Runs Premiering at A Night of Horror IFF

I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last SummerNow this is a new one: An Australian cricket-themed horror/comedy. It’s called I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer, and if you live Down Under, you have a chance to catch its premiere on Thursday, March 26, 2009, as part of A Night of Horror International Film Festival.

Now in its third year, the fest runs from March 25-April 3, 2009, in Sydney and will be showing 14 feature films and over 40 shorts and horror-themed music videos. Attendees will be able to meet Stacey Edmonds and Doug Turner, the directors/producers of I Know How Many Runs, at the screening’s Q&A and also at the fest’s Horror Filmmaking Forum. “This will be the first time the completed film has been seen by anyone and is the perfect curtain-raiser ahead of its June release,” said Turner.

For those of us who have to wait for it to hit Stateside via another festival or DVD, here’s a synopsis: In the heady Australian summer of ‘89 a young cricketer is hospitalized by his bullying teammates. 20 years later he returns to his homeland to wreak his bloody revenge. Scotland Yard hotshot Kim Reynolds arrives in Sydney to assist New South Wales Detectives Gary Chance and Shane Scott in the hunt for the serial killer terrorizing Sydney.

The remaining team members are relocated to a safe house in Joadja Creek, Illawarra; unfortunately it doesn’t turn out to be that safe! One by one in the remote Australian outback, the team members are dismissed by a mustachioed serial killer with a razor sharp cricket glove and an arsenal of sharpened stumps.
