Now here’s some news I didn’t expect to stumble upon any time soon: EA Games has announced that development has officialy begun on a sequel to American McGee’s Alice, the 2000 game that put players in the shoes of Alice, all grown up and fighting to defend an even more twisted version of Wonderland.
The sequel will be called The Return of American McGee’s Alice, according to an EA press release, and will be out for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. “This new project is a dream come true for me and the fans who’ve kept the Alice flame alive,” McGee said in the press release. “EA gave us creative latitude and support on the original game which resulted in something beautiful and daring. This trip through the looking glass promises to be even more exciting.”
No word on just what the sequel will be about yet, but since it’s just entered the first stages of development, we’ve got a long time before we find out, I’m sure. Of course we’ll keep you in the loop as we hear more!
