BBC America Announces New Genre Shows

BBC America getting new genre showsThose of you out there with cable (pretty much everyone but my wife and me) will be happy to hear about not one or two, but three cool British shows making their way to BBC America later this year.

”Being Human”, “Survivors”, and the return of “Primeval” will all be appearing on the US counterpart to the UK’s main broadcasting entity, and each promises something cool for genre fans. “Being Human” we’ve told you about before; it’s the story of a vampire, werewolf, and ghost who all live in the same apartment and how they deal with both the issues of normal twenty-somethings and being supernatural creatures.

“Survivors” is a post-apocalyptic story following the last remnants of humanity struggling to rebuild society after a virus wiped out 99% of the world’s population. “Primeval” takes place in the here and now, only the here and now is overrun by animals thought to have gone extinct years ago, dinosaurs chief among them.

Keep an eye on BBC America for actual premiere dates for all three shows!

Actually JB, my wife and I do not have cable either… and because we watch so very little tv, are also seriously thinking of not getting a convertor box for when the analogue signal is eventually turned off!

Survivors is the re-do of the Terry Nation series of the same name for the 1970s. I hear the new version had Freema Agyeman in it, so it will be most watchable!

I can’t wait to watch “Being Human”, I hope we get it in canada sometime. I watched the pilot and a few clips to the series on youtube and it got me excited!! The show looks soooooooo good! Geroge the werewolf is definitly my favorite character, he’s so cute and emotionally deep!!

…all your comments are instantly invalidated by the fact that your avatar is a poster for one of the worst films ever made. Ever.

But yes, “Being Human” is damn good.

I could care less what you think about my picture!!! I used it because I like the cover and I like werewolves!!! Get a life!!!!

So, you COULD care less, then? ;) Relax Butane was only kidding. See what happens when we let him off of his leash for even just a second?

His Memoirs of a Geisha DVD must have gotten scratched. *giggles like a Japanese girl*

Wow, that was scary. It wasn’t meant in spitefulness; I just hate that movie.

if you guys are trying to start something, it won’t work. i’ve dealt with enough spamming to know when people are full of crap!!! like i said before, i don’t care what any of you think.

          • PelusaMG

But you do… you came back… and you replied!

By the way, I agree with you – I dream that one day people will be judged by the content of their character, and not by the quality of their avatar!

The original pilot was fantastic, this needless reboot is just atrocious.
