Remember back in November when we did a little story about he possibility of Michael Jacskson’s “Thriller” coming to the stage? Well, looks like it’s going to happen whether the idea thrills you or terrifies you beyond the capacity for rational thoughts.
Not sure which side of that fence I land on…
Yahoo News! receieved the confirmation, as producer and theater owner James Nederlander officially announced the he will be ramping up a stage version of the groundbreaking John Landis-helmed music video. “I love the idea of making ‘Thriller’ a musical.” Nederlander said, ”Girl meets boy, they fall in love, boy has big secret, now what?”
No word on which of Michel’s songs will be included, but Nederlander did say the tunes would only be pulled from the “Off the Wall” and “Thriller” albums, also known as Jackson’s “good” phase. If the King of Pop decides to star in it, they’ll sure save a lot on the zombie makeup as the guy’s looked dead since the late 90’s. Hey, maybe his nose will fall off for he encore!
You bet your ass we’ll be following this one from concept to execution, so keep your rotting carcasses planted here!
