Dave Reda and his crazed cohorts at Elftwin Films are at it again with a new short film entitled My Undeadly, and they’ve given Dread Central the first look at its trailer. We’ve seen the zombie-themed short already (and loved it!), but the hardest part of talking about it is not giving away the ending so we’re just going to let Dave himself fill you in.

We shot at the 1978 original Halloween Michael Myers home for the exteriors in South Pasadena… That was really cool for me to get a house so iconic in one of my horror films. It was also an honor to work with scream queen Michelle Tomlinson! She was so amazing and made it easy for me to get through my side, directing and acting. Makeup artist Alexis Staats did my makeup and was FANTASTIC! I was in makeup for 4 hours, then we shot for 10 hours with a skeleton crew. Brian Barrow was my incredible DP on this one and did some amazing things; it was really great to work with him. My AD Brian Katz was also fantastic and took on the huge role of keeping the ship steady while I went in front of the camera and making sense of my crazy shot list.

Peter Redman’s house was where we also shot the film Bit Parts and now this film as well. Pete did my costume and had me looking zombierific in NO time. The music was done by composers Steve Gilbane and Randin Graves… Steve did our cool creepy musical score while Randin took on the mission I gave him of twisting the mall music from the Romero Dawn of the Dead just enough but still making it recognizable. It was a whirlwind shoot, but everyone was so awesome it allowed us to move very fast and get through it all.

We are all VERY excited and honored about world premiering My Undeadly this year at Hollyshorts 2011 (it runs August 11-18). We showed H.O.O.L. [Horror of Our Love] there last year, and it is totally one of the best fests in LA… Daniel Sol, Theo Dumont, and Nicole Castro put on quite a star-studded independent film fest that is not only fun to go to but amazing to be a part of.

And there you have it, straight from Dave. We’re not going to tell you anything else about My Undeadly for now other than to keep your eyes and ears open for more festival dates in the near future. Check out the trailer below, and keep it here for updates!
