Mutants

DVD Releases: Nov. 3, 2009: See the Beast Within your Dark Mirror

It's a Foy-a-palooza this week with several releases that have his name all over them like Beast Within, Mutants (not the French film of the same name), Night Watcher, and Sand Serpents. Mixed in with those are the more promising sounding Dark Mirror and a four-pack of Hitchcock classics that includes Suspicion, Strangers on a Train, The Wrong Man, and I Confess.

And it also lacks a few other things too ... like good artwork and, according to our Albino Farm review, Albinos! What a world. WHAT A WORLD!

Twitch Film got their hands on the full trailer for the new French Zombie-fest Mutants today, and wow is this one now officially on our radar.

Trailer for French Zombie Horror Mutants

The freaks over at Twitch Film got their greasy, grimy hands on the first trailer for Mutants, the feature debut David Morley, and looks really, really cool. The story puts a new spin on zombies, making the transformation to one take a very long time thus forcing a person to watch their companion rot away, which adds a disturbing new elementto the proceedings.

Beowulf Scribes Exit Black Hole

Earlier this year we discovered that Charles Burns' interesting comic Black Hole, where teens undergo mutations via a sexually transmitted disease, was going to be adapted to the big screen by David Fincher. Then came eight months of silence.

Plot Synopsis:

Sounding suspiciously like a zombie film, Mutants is set in a post-apocalyptic world and tells of a couple trying to escape some nasty stuff, only for one of them to get bitten for their troubles.

New artwork came down today for two new French horror films that both seem more than worthy of us keeping an eye on.

    Fincher to Create Black Hole

Teen horror dramas rarely turn out good. Teeth (review) is one of those few occasions where the whole WB/CW audience was ignored and someone made just a badass movie. It looks like Paramount Pictures may have taken a page out of the same book.
