Mondo Unveils Chilling New ‘The Changeling’ Poster

The Changeling Mondo Poster

The great haunted house movie of all time is getting the Mondo treatment! Peter Medak‘s 1980 film The Changeling, starring the late George C. Scott, is getting a haunting new poster from artist David Seidman.

For the uninitiated, The Changeling follows Scott’s John Russell, who is grieving after the untimely deaths of his wife and daugher in a car accident. Looking for a change of scenery, he moves into a secluded house in Washington State. But quickly, he realizes he isn’t alone in the house.

Seidman spoke about the film and how it influenced his design, saying:

“As an artist whose work is heavily influenced by haunted imagery, The Changeling is a movie that delivers so much through its storytelling, atmosphere, and visuals. The abandoned antique wheelchair and possessed red ball have become so influential in the horror genre and icons on their own. Using these objects prominently helped me set the scene to perfectly capture the tone and atmosphere of one of my favorite haunted house movies.”

Mondo Art Director Josh Manderville said of the latest release,

“Collaborating with Joel Michaels, the producer for The Changeling, we shared David Seidman’s work alongside examples of classic horror paperbacks of the ’70s and ’80s. We wanted to honor the narrative of the original one-sheet with the haunting surrealism of David’s work. Seidman captures the classic horror cover style using the mysterious puzzle pieces that allowed John Russell to uncover the truth behind the Carmichael house and make amends with his own ghosts.”

The Changeling poster is an 8-color screenprint on Cougar Smooth Uncoated White and measures 24 inches by 26 inches. It will retail for $80.

The latest from Mondo goes on sale on February 29, 2024, at 12 PM CT/10 AM PT.
