Here's the deal... If there's zombie action happening somewhere in the world, you can rest assured we'll be there to bring you the kind of looks you won't find anywhere else. Case in point: Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies!

Man, that Abe Lincoln is quickly becoming the most prolific monster hunter of our times. Hollywood has him fighting vamps, and The Asylum has him duking it out with zombies! Speaking of which, a bunch of new stills have made their way online from the latter.

It was a month ago when word first broke that The Asylum is getting back to its classical mockbuster ways with American Battleship, the company's take on this summer’s mega budget board game-inspired Battleship. Now we have our first look at stars Mario Van Peebles and Carl Weathers on the set as they try to prevent intergalactic aquatic invaders from sinking their battleship.

Along with countless copycat films, Paranormal Activity has also spawned its fair share of spoofs. That being said, there's another on its way that's looking to hit the found footage sub-genre directly in the funny bone!

He won the Civil War. Freed the slaves. Slayed the vampires. Even found time to kill Confederate zombies. No wonder Abraham Lincoln is considered our greatest President. That last bit of Lincoln-ism will be the subject of the latest Asylum mockbuster Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies.

Of all the upcoming blockbusters for The Asylum to do a mockbuster of, I commend the gutsy call made to ride the coattails of one that has already been the subject of much snickering and eye-rolling. Then again, they’re used to snickering and eye-rolling. But by hiring Sonny Spoon and Apollo Creed, their American Battleship already has the cooler cast.

Darren Lynn Bousman’s 11-11-11 isn’t the only film cashing in on a numerically gimmicky date next month. The Asylum has its own 11/11/11 movie hitting DVD shelves on November 1st, and the trailer has just premiered in all its devil child glory.

As soon as I write a story about a few new Asylum movies, they have to go and update their website with the first production stills from their upcoming horror movie 11/11/11, not to be confused with Darren Lynn Bousman’s 11-11-11, though I suspect that might be part of the master plan.

It's all about the military fighting off aliens invading the City of Angels this weekend. Battle: Los Angeles in theaters; The Asylum mockbuster Battle of Los Angeles premiering on Syfy on Saturday night. Syfy has posted two short snippets of Battle of Los Angeles action. Bet you didn't know you could kill a UFO with a samurai sword, did you?

Next weekend you have two options when it comes to aliens invading the City of Angels. Pay high ticket prices to see Battle: Los Angeles on the big screen or watch Battle of Los Angeles on the small screen for the cost of basic cable.

No. Battle: Los Angeles will not be airing for free on Syfy 24 hours after it opens in theaters. Don’t be silly. Did you not notice the word “of” between “Battle” and “Los Angeles”? What do you suppose that could mean? If you answered “a new Asylum mockbuster”, you win the mega no-prize.
