The number of home video releases on October 19th is not as abundant as in recent weeks, and fewer re-released titles means those that are available are much more special. In this batch one Adrien Brody flick competes with another, and at least two independent horror titles are making a splash. Two beloved classic films return in Blu-ray where one is supplemented by a documentary treatment of it.
Having survived a buffeting Southern electrical storm en route from Los Angeles to Baton Rouge, this writer touched down in Louisiana on December 14 of 2009 and, following a rather eerie stroll through a seemingly abandoned airport and a ride with a cabbie whose previous fare had been arrested, arrived unscathed to the set of the then-shooting feature Mirrors 2.
Man, this year just flew! It was several months ago that we first told you about Victor Garcia's Mirrors 2, and now in anticipation of the flick's DVD/Blu-ray release on October 19th, we have an exclusive clip for you guys to dig upon! From the Press Release:
If you're in the Los Angeles area and you're a horror fan, believe us when we tell you that you do NOT want to miss this year's ScreamFest!
Now that Mirrors 2 is hitting DVD and Blu-ray via Twentieth Century Fox on October 19th, 2010, the behind-the-scenes goodness has been coming hot and heavy. Today's dosage? Three new images, one totally exclusive! From the Press Release:
It was last March when first got the word that Mirrors 2 would be hitting DVD and Blu-ray via Twentieth Century Fox on October 19, 2010. But it wasn't until recently that the specs were revealed. Read on for the details, which include the first Stateside release of the Korean film Into the Mirror, on which Mirrors 2 is based. From the Press Release:
Alexandre Aja's Mirrors was hit or miss with fans, and we can only hope that Victor Garcia's follow-up will hit more of the marks that fans wanted it to. If only there was a trailer out there that could whet our whistles. Speaking of which ...
Aja's Mirrors was hit or miss with fans, and we can only hope that Victor Garcia's follow-up will hit more of the marks that fans wanted it to. We'll get the chance to judge for ourselves soon enough!
This scribe co-hosted last night’s Screamfest LA ‘Night of Mayhem’ mixer at the hipster hangout Kung Pao Kitty in Hollywood, CA, and brought back a slew of photos as well as release info and word on a couple of flicks you may be interested in.
This scribe just got in from a quick visit to the set of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s just-wrapped Mirrors 2, and while I can’t spill much yet regarding the Baton Rouge, Louisiana production (although horror fans can expect scenes featuring disembowelment, nudity and decapitation, among others), I can provide you a series of behind-the-scenes pics (see ‘em below), as well as an update on the Victor (Return to House on Haunted Hill) Garcia directed feature.
Lesley Chen of Fox Home Entertainment provided us with a plot synopsis and casting news for the company’s sequel to last year’s Alexandre Aja-helmed Mirrors. Titled Mirrors 2 and directed by Victor (Return to House on Haunted Hill) Garcia from a script by Matt (White Noise 2) Venne, the planned direct-to-DVD film is currently shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and stars Nick Stahl, William Katt, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Lawrence Turner, Stephanie Honore, Christy Charlson Romano, Jon Michael Davis, Evan Jones, Wayne Pere, Lance E.
20th Century Fox must be under the impression that someone out there liked last summer's Mirrors, since they're making good on their threat to give us another one. And it seems that Nick Stahl will be picking up where Kiefer Sutherland left off, although I doubt he'll be pulling guns on nuns or fist-fighting demons.
Another sequel no one is clamoring for, Mirrors 2, is apparently proceeding full steam ahead, and today some details were revealed including the film's director and a brief outline of the storyline.
