E3 2018: Explore A Disturbed Mind In Ubisoft’s TRANSFERENCE

Along with the expected Assassin’s Creed and For Honor announcements, Ubisoft surprised us at E3 by showcasing a brand new and unique sounding VR horror game called Transference.
Actor Elijah Wood appeared on stage to present the game, which is being developed by SpectreVision, a studio he co-founded. Releasing later this year, Transference will take place inside a digital simulation created by a troubled scientist using the brain scan data of his wife and son. You’ll be shifting perspectives between all three family members as you try to uncover the mystery behind the digitally recreated memories, although Ubisoft have stated that Transference will not be an RPG, as you will have to interpret events for yourself rather than seeing them through anther character’s eyes.
As you can also see from the trailer, Transference will be mixing both live-action and CGI in order to try to bridge the gap between the mediums of film and video games. We’ll see how successful they were in doing so when it launches on PlayStation VR, Xbox One, PC, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive later this year.
