This 2014 war thriller seems to have a firm grip on the Max (formerly HBO) charts. For the second week in a row now, this movie is comfortably resting on the streamer’s charts. Some of you have helped American Sniper claim the #4 spot.

Rotten Tomatoes Synopsis

“U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) takes his sole mission — protect his comrades — to heart and becomes one of the most lethal snipers in American history. His pinpoint accuracy not only saves countless lives but also makes him a prime target of insurgents. Despite grave danger and his struggle to be a good husband and father to his family back in the States, Kyle serves four tours of duty in Iraq. However, when he finally returns home, he finds that he cannot leave the war behind.”

American Sniper was directed by Clint Eastwood. The script was written by Jason Hall. It was adapted from a book of the same name written by Chris Kyle, Scott McEwen, and Jim DeFelice. It stars Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Kyle Gallner, and Leonard Roberts.

Because the movie is based on the life of army vet Chris Kyle, the thriller seems to be striking a chord with people who are fans of Clint Eastwood and patriotic. A lot of that demographic seems happy it’s streaming and has given this movie a surprising boost on the charts.
