As we’ve surely hammered into your head by now, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp is working on a sequel to Aliens that will essentially wipe the events of Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection off the slate, with both Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn set to star. But is it actually going to be made? Biehn is pretty damn certain it will.

Speaking with Forbes, the actor promised that the return of Hicks is imminent.

I think it would be very embarrassing to Fox if they don’t give Sigourney the movie that she really wants to go out on,” said Biehn. “I don’t know when it’s going to happen but I know it’s going to happen and I know I’m going to be in it and there’s going to be a new Newt; she’s going to be about 26 or 27 and looks a lot like Jennifer Lawrence to me. but I don’t know. Maybe there’ll be a passing of whatever, and then the franchise can move on so they can make more money because that’s what it’s all about.”

As has been well documented, Blomkamp’s sequel was put on hold so that Ridley Scott could make Alien: Covenant. That film, a sequel to Prometheus and the second prequel to the original Alien, is scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 4, 2017.

In the meantime, check out Blomkamp’s Hicks concept art below.
