The Lizardmen Show No Mercy in Latest Total War: Warhammer II Trailer

When I was a kid, there was a Games Workshop in practically every other town in the UK, although now they’re almost as hard to find as Trump’s tax returns. Not as many people are buying the tabletop Warhammer miniatures, but there’s no denying that the sudden influx of influx Warhammer video games will introduce the franchise to a whole new audience.

Sega stated in their recent financial statement that Persona 5 (which was published by their subsidiary company Atlus) and Total War: Warhammer were both hugely profitable during the last fiscal year, with both contributing significantly to the publisher’s net income of $246 million.

With the first game being such a financial hit, Total War: Warhammer II is practically guaranteed to be fly to success. Just like we see the Lizardmen flying atop their Ripperdactyl steeds in the latest trailer and screenshots. Kind of makes me think of the Mountain Banshees from Avatar, only they’re much uglier. We also see other Lizardmen warriors riding a monstrous Carnosaur in the trailer, and we even get to see the hulking creature make a meal of a High Elf warrior at 1:48.

There are even rumblings that Sega now consider Total War: Warhammer such a lucrative commodity that they may turn it into a yearly franchise like Call of Duty or FIFA, but I guess they’ll probably want to see how the sequel performs first. Developed by Creative Assembly, we’ll probably see more from Total War: Warhammer II at Sega’s presentation at next month’s E3.

Like the first game, Total War: Warhammer 2 will probably be released with a T rating before receiving blood and gore DLC at a later date, as has also happened with many other Total War games.

Total War: WARHAMMER 2 – Lizardmen In-Engine Trailer
It is time to march on the Fallen Gates. The Elf servants have blasphemed not just by leaving Ulthuan, but by daring to interfere with the Cosmic Gates – an ancient device that can open a portal into the Realm of Chaos. For such a heinous transgressions, the Elves must be punished as decreed by Mazdamundi, the Lord of the Solar City.
