Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, and Marisol Nichols Join Chris Rock’s Untitled SAW Entry

Mother fucker…

Lionsgate has officially announced that Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, and Marisol Nichols have joined their upcoming new installment in the Saw franchise, which is as-yet-untitled. Jackson will play the father of Chris Rock, who is executive producing the film. Rock himself plays, “…a police detective investigating a series of grizzly [sic] crimes.” Max Minghella will play William Schenk, Rock’s partner, and Marisol Nichols will play Captain Angie Garza, Rock’s boss.

“We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can’t wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise. This is next level of Saw on full tilt,” said Joe Drake, Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.

Producing the film are Mark Burg and Oren Koules, who produced every Saw film. Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed Saw II, III, and IV, is directing a script based on a story by Rock and written by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. James Wan and Leigh Whannell, creators of the franchise, return as executive producers alongside Chris Rock.

Filming has officially begun in Toronto.
