HAPPY DEATH DAY 3 Would’ve Already Been Made If HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U Had Been Successful

Happy Death Day

Blumhouse’s Happy Death Day was awesome. Happy Death Day 2U not so much. That said, I’d still like to see Happy Death Day 3. And it turns out, so does Blumhouse head honcho, Jason Blum.

Blum tells Fandom: “I’m on the case! There’s nothing concrete, but I’m very determined to make the movie. Chris is very determined to make the movie. Somehow, someway, we’re getting that movie made.”

He added: “We would’ve already had a third movie if that second movie had worked financially … I just loved the movie, and like I said, I’m going to get a third one made, somehow, someway!

Happy Death Day 2U followed Tree Gelbman who wakes up in horror to learn that she’s stuck in a parallel universe. Her boyfriend is with someone else, and her friends and fellow students seem to be completely different versions of themselves. When Tree discovers that someone has been altering time, she finds herself once again the target of a masked killer. When the psychopath starts to go after her inner circle, Tree soon realizes that she must die over and over again to save everyone.

The film sports a 70% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: A funnier follow-up with a sci-fi bent, Happy Death Day 2U isn’t as fiendishly fresh as its predecessor, but fans of the original may still find this a sequel worth celebrating.
