David Goyer Talks Ghost Rider 2

Last we heard about Ghost Rider 2, David Goyer said he hadn't signed on yet but plans were already under way to base the sequel on a script he had written previously. Now today comes word that he is confirmed as a producer for the next installment and will polish his nine-year-old screenplay (including reworking its hard R-rated nature for a PG-13 rating), and while the continuity won't necessarily get an overhaul, the tone is certainly shifting.

Marvel Scaring Up a Venom Solo Movie

Variety reported today that Gary Ross (Pleasantville, Seabiscuit) is following up his rewrite of Spider-Man 4 with writing-directing duties on a solo spin-off movie based on the Marvel villain Venom that got shoehorned quite awkwardly into Spider-Man 3. I ask this in all honesty: Does anyone care about a Venom movie?

Columbia Talking Ghost Rider 2 with David Goyer

Nicolas Cage has been talking about a Ghost Rider sequel for over a year now (see an earlier story by Foy from 9/4/08) and nobody paid him much mind, but now the trades are getting into the act and throwing around David Goyer's name to boot.

It's Monsters vs. Undead Heroes in Marvel Zombies 4

The wacky Marvel Zombies hijinks continue as Marvel Zombies 4 (yes, we are up to 4 now!) picks up right where 3 left off. Apparently earth's mightiest rotting heroes are locked down under the watchful eye of an inter-dimensional defense agency known as A.R.M.O.R., but as the saying goes ... the best laid plans of mice and brain-starved, shambling super corpses often go awry.

Hulk Vs. DVD Details

If there was any doubt that The Hulk is still a force to be reckoned with, the over $135 million domestic box office haul by Ed Norton and Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk (DVD/Blu-ray review here) has proven his incredible staying power as a Marvel comic icon.

Sideshow's New Zombie

Long before Marvel decided to kill and resurrect all of its most popular heroes for Marvel Zombies, the company had dipped its toes in the zombie pool with the series Tales of the Zombie, which ran from 1973-1975. Now Sideshow is celebrating Marvel’s first zombie with this badass collectible from Bowen Designs.

Preview of The Stand Comic Now Online!

I know a lot of you out there, myself included, are eagerly looking forward to Marvel’s forthcoming comic translation of Stephen King’s The Stand, but you won’t have to wait too much longer. In fact, UGO has an exlclusive look at the first issue’s first six pages, to whet your apocalyptic appetite even more.

The Da Vinci Code 2 Ghost Rider Rides Again

I was skeptical of even writing this article since I honestly don't believe a sequel to Ghost Rider (review) will ever actually see the light of day. But since Nic Cage insists on talking it up, even claiming he's spoken to the studio about returning for a sequel, I guess it's news-worthy.

First Look at Marvel's The Stand!

Personally I can’t wait to see how Marvel does with its upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s seminal apocalypse novel The Stand. Just the excuse to read it again is enough for me. AICN managed to get its hands on the first art for the book, and needless to say I’m impressed. They promise to have more tomorrow so make sure you hit ‘em up again to see the rest!

Marvel Confirms The Stand Adaptation

Funny how you may not even be aware how much you’ve been waiting for something until it finally happens. Case in point, Marvel’s recently announced comic translation of Stephen King’s epic end-of-the-world novel, The Stand.

Marvel to Adapt The Stand?

Last year’s New York Comic Con featured a great public appearance by Stephen King, a hero of mine since my younger days. I wrote all about the appearance after the show (read it here), and one of the coolest bits of news that came from it was that Marvel was discussing a comic adaptation of King’s seminal end-of-the world epic, The Stand.
