    R.I.P. Effects Man Benoit Lestang

It always pains me to have to do a story about a horror personality who is no longer with us, but it’s that much worse when the person is gone of their own hand. Such was the case with French effects man Benoit Lestang, who reportedly committed suicide over the weekend.

    TIFF's Midnight Madness 2008!

As with most years previous, the Midnight Madness lineup at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival is a damn impressive one.

    Frightfest 2008 Schedule Live!

Need a good reason to make a trip across the pond? Or perhaps you live in the UK and are just dying for something cool to do? We’ve got just the thing, if you don’t mind waiting till August…

    Martyrs Promo Reel

I wish we had reported on this earlier, but I’m actually glad we waited cause this was worth it. By now you’ve likely heard of Pascal Laugier’s Martyrs, a French film that’s been making all sorts of waves since it showed up at Cannes this year. Apparently this is the next big thing in horror, folks.

    Weinsteins Get Wild Trio

The Weinstein Company continued to make sure that very few horror films slip through their grasp this weekend with the acquisition of three movies from French sales house The Wild Bunch, according to a story in Daily Variety.
