‘Tis the season for short films here at Dread Central, and we have one more for you to watch that will definitely help put you in the Halloween spirit. From Marc Roussel (Remote, Heir) comes The Last Halloween, which won “Best Short Horror Film” at the 2015 iHorror Awards.  He even included a quartet of new character posters for us to share.

In his review of the film this past summer, Matt B. praised it as “strong, disheartening, and a welcome sight for those who love their holiday tales laced with terror.

Director Roussel co-wrote The Last Halloween with Mark Thibodeau, based on Thibodeau’s comic book of the same name.  The film was produced by Roussel, Thibodeau, Ron Basch, Greg Machula, Jessica Menagh, and John Nicholls.

It stars Ron Basch, Emily Alatalo, Angela Besharah, and Julian Richings as Chatterbox; their co-stars include Zoe Fraser, Drew Nelson, Jake Goodman, Brendan Heard, Adrian G. Griffiths, Kritty Uranowski, Alastair Forbes, and Ali Adatia.

Synopsis:
The city is quiet, its streets deserted. It doesn’t much feel like Halloween, and yet, four young trick-or-treaters – a Ghost, a Devil, a Grim Reaper, and a Witch – make their way through the night, door to door and house by house, gathering up an unlikely harvest of kindness amid the devastated wreckage of society’s collapse.

In a world where the only rule is that there are no rules anymore, it is perhaps a fitting irony that it should all come down to this… a simple choice between two starkly different options.

The Last Halloween is here at last, and the time has come to make your choice. So, what will it be… Trick? Or treat?
