Len Wiseman
Dread Central recently caught up with writer/producer/franchise creator Len Wiseman, who graciously took a few moments out from working on his director's cut of Total Recall to chat with us about
Underworld: Awakening (review here), the latest entry in the series that began back in 2003 with a then up-and-coming Wiseman at the helm.
So the question beckons... just how different will this new version of Total Recall be in comparison to the blast that was the Arnold Schwarzenegger running rampant on Mars flick? Pretty damned different. Read on for your first look at the official synopsis.
Nothing says "See This Movie" quite like text on a black background. If you're headed to the San Diego Comic-Con looking for some Total Recall-themed eye candy, that's all you're gonna get!
Here's one for you guys out there looking to get a glimpse of the Mars-less Total Recall remake ... the first behind-the-scenes images of both Jessica Biel and star Colin Farrell have made their way online, and we have every just-standing-around pixel of 'em for ya!
And one more actor has joined the ranks of Len Wiseman's Total Recall redux: John Cho, better known as Harold of Harold & Kumar and as Demetri in the short-lived "FlashForward". He's signed to play McClane, a smooth-talking rep for the mind-messing company that tempts Colin Farrell’s Douglas Quaid to implant fantastic memories into his brain.
Well, we may not be getting a trip to Mars, and it's still unclear as to whether or not the famed three-boobed chick will appear; however, we do know that at least one mutant will be making his way into the Total Recall redux.
And the casting news keeps coming for the redux of Total Recall as Ethan Hawke (Daybreakers, Assault on Precinct 13) signs on for a cameo role in the film, which stars Colin Farrell.
The Total Recall remake is taking on new cast members every few days, and today we got word that Bokeem Woodbine (Devil) is next up for a stint in New Shanghai.
Yet another big named beauty is in the running to hop aboard the upcoming Columbia Pictures' remake of Total Recall. She's fought vampires, decimated lycans, and even survived the wretched doldrums of the most boring white-out imaginable.
Now this ... this is what we call fantastic news! Bryan Cranston, Emmy-winning star of AMC's incredible series "Breaking Bad", is in negotiations to play the villain in Columbia Pictures' remake of Total Recall.
There's a slew of ladies reading for the lead in Len Wiseman's upcoming 2012 redux of Total Recall, and we've got the scoop on who is on the shortlist! Dig it!
It's funny. Not ten minutes ago we were talking about the original Total Recall, and boom, a release date comes across our desks for the remake. Should we be worried? Does this weird coincidence somehow affect the space time continuum?
Hollywood is bleeding out the last of its news before the holiday break, and this latest tidbit shows that Len Wiseman's remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Total Recall is set to go before cameras in Canada in late March.
News that a fourth Underworld movie is preparing to go before the cameras is no surprise. That Kate Beckinsale will be returning as vampiric death dealer Selene might be somewhat surprising given her absence in the third installment that went the prequel route instead.
So it appears things aren't coming together as quickly as hoped for the latest Underworld installment as its release date has just been pushed back from September 23, 2011, to January 20, 2012.
