Sundance 2012: Katie Aselton’s Black Rock Land Distro with LD Distribution

And another Sundance deal has been made with LD Distribution nabbing North American distro rights for director/co-star Katie Aselton’s Black Rock, which was written by her husband, Mark Duplass (Baghead).

The thriller apparently was priced in the seven-figure range and is now heading for a theatrical release. LD beat out some heavyweights for this one, including Gold Circle, Lionsgate, Magnolia, and IFC.

Black Rock / U.S.A. (Director: Katie Aselton, Screenwriter: Mark Duplass) — Three childhood friends set aside their personal issues and reunite for a girls’ weekend on a remote island off the coast of Maine. One wrong move turns their weekend getaway into a deadly fight for survival. Cast: Katie Aselton, Lake Bell, Kate Bosworth.
