DC Collectibles Unveils its Upcoming iZombie Statue

It’s a good time to be a fan of the iZombie comics. Not only is a new TV show based on Chris Roberson’s popular series heading our way at midseason from The CW, but DC Collectibles has revealed an upcoming collectible statue of the main character.

TV Guide got the first look at the lovely lass in all her brain-eating glory. It’s being released by DC Collectibles, the merchandising wing of DC Entertainment, whose Vertigo imprint published the series.

Based on the designs of the comic-series’ artist Michael Allred and sculpted by Phil Ramirez, the statue is approximately 9.25 inches tall and will go on sale this November for $99.95.

Though the TV series modifies the original story written by Chris Roberson a bit, the storyline is essentially the same: Following a zombie infection, a young woman must eat the brains of dead people in order to maintain her own humanity. As a result, she absorbs the memories of the dead person and, somewhat reluctantly, helps solve their murder or carry out their final wishes.

In the original comic the protagonist was Gwen Dylan, a gravedigger; in The CW’s version her name is Liv Moore, who works in a coroners’ office. She’ll be portrayed by Rose McIver. You can compare the different interpretations below.
