No More Expensive Importing! Diamond Bringing Godzilla Toys and More to the StatesIf you’re anything like yours truly, then you’ve already been ripped off by importers 100s of times as a means to nab yourself that cool-ass Godzilla toy from Japan. $100 for Jet Jaguar or Kong from King Kong Escapes? Yep, I’ve so been there. Those days, though, are coming to a close.

Thanks, we’re sure in no small part to the hype wheel beginning to move for Legendary Pictures’ take on Godzilla, Diamond Select Toys will be bringing these usually expensive pieces of plastic to American consumers who’ve spent entirely too long trying to nab a 7″ Gorosaurus and the like!

From the Press Release
Toho Company, Ltd., the producer of twenty-eight GODZILLA motion pictures, and Diamond Comic Distributors, the world’s largest distributor of comics, graphic novels, and pop-culture merchandise, have reached an agreement that will bring the best GODZILLA merchandise from Japan and beyond to the United States and Canada. Diamond will choose, market, and distribute the highly desired and sought after GODZILLA toys, comics, collectibles, and lifestyle products, many of which have previously been available only in Japan.

“GODZILLA has been a pop culture icon since he was unleashed on the world in 1954,” said John Parker, Diamond’s VP- New Business Development. “Now that Diamond can provide a complete offering of awesome GODZILLA merchandise from Toho, the long lost and unavailable figures and collectibles will be easily accessible to the fans of the nuclear beast. With a new film in production and scheduled for release in May, 2014, the monster merchandise will be here just in time to make its way onto the shelves of North American retailers.”

”We are very excited to be teaming with Diamond Comic Distributors in this opportunity to share a wider and more complete line of Godzilla merchandise,” said Masaki Fujiwara, General Manager at the Los Angeles office of Toho Co., Ltd. “I hope the Godzilla fans in North America are as thrilled as we are.”

An initial round of merchandise is featured in Diamond’s May PREVIEWS catalog and is expected in retail stores starting in July.

NECA Announces Ashy Slashy Puppet Replica

Published

on

One of our favorite horror TV shows is Starz’s “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” and one of our favorite moments from the first two seasons is when Ash brings out his “Ashy Slashy” puppet.

If you’re like us and have been wondering when you could get your hands on an Ashy Slashy puppet of your own, today we have good news.

NECA has just announced its prop replica!

You can check out pics of the packaging reveal NECA did over on Facebook below, and then let us know if you’re going to be buying your very own Ash Slashy puppet.

We’ll let you know when the item becomes available for pre-order!

Rundown via NECA:
Every day can be demented play day with your very own Ashy Slashy puppet from Season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead! We’ve replicated Ash’s potty-mouthed little doppelganger from the asylum episodes for your (hopefully G-rated) entertainment.

This is a working puppet – insert your hand, and you can move the mouth; plus the arms are poseable thanks to inner articulation.

Ashy Slashy is approximately 15” tall.

Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Xenomorph Getting Their Own 8-Bit Pop Vinyls

Published

on

Funko has released some delightful horror-themed products over the years, but this just takes the cake. They’ve announced a new line of 8-bit Pop Vinyl figures, which will feature pixelated versions of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Xenomorph. I never thought I’d say it, but even Freddy Krueger looks cute.

Freddy and Jason will both come in standard editions, in addition to GameStop exclusives based on how they both appeared in their own NES video games. The Xenomorph will also have a Previews exclusive edition depicting it smeared with acid blood. Have a look at the images below to decide which versions you like best. Most of us would probably like to purchase all six!

These adorable (but still horrible) figures will be available in January, so make sure you don’t go bankrupt over Christmas.
