The gorgeous Ariel Chylde has been tempting comic book readers with her beauty for 15 years, and our friends at Image Comics and Diamond Select Toys are doing the celebration right with some all new Ariel for you to enjoy.

First, Diamond Select Toys’ Femme Fatales line announces the Darkchylde ‘Deadly Dreamer’ PVC statue of Ariel. Sculpted by Sam Greenwell and designed by Randy Queen, the figure measures over 11″ tall with the wingspan and carries an MSRP of $45.00.

You can see Ariel at the Diamond Select Toys Booth at San Diego Comic-Con!

Additionally, Image Comics also has a very special project to celebrate the anniversary with Dreams of Darkchylde Vol. 1, a collection with a forward by horror icon John Carpenter (slated to direct the film adaptation) and new cover art by Randy Queen.

From the Image Comics Press Release
Soon, Darkchylde fans new and old will be able to catch up with the accursed teen Ariel Chylde in Dreams of Darkchylde Vol.1 from Image Comics. The Dreams series is collected for the first time with new art and cover by Randy Queen and a special forward by legendary master of horror John Carpenter, who is on board to direct the film adaptation.

Ariel Chylde is a sweet-tempered girl with a terrifying secret: She can become the horrendous creatures from her many recurring nightmares. In Dreams of Darkchylde Vol. 1, we go deeper into the real world ghosts that haunt her psychological terrain, when a fallen childhood friend returns as an angry poltergeist seeking Ariel’s blood in a mad hunger for misguided revenge.

“2011 marks the 15th anniversary of Ariel Chylde,” says creator and artist Randy Queen. “So, it is with great joy this rare collection of Darkchylde material is made available for the first time in America with Image, and I’m thrilled to have John Carpenter’s words open the volume. If you’re an older fan, or newer fan, you’ll find something fresh to discover in these haunted tales of the teen who can become the creatures from her nightmares!”

Dreams of Darkchylde Vol.1 is a 136-page full-color trade paperback, which hit stores on June 15th for $16.99. Get the latest updates on Darkchylde at the official Darkchylde website

NECA Announces Ashy Slashy Puppet Replica

Published

on

One of our favorite horror TV shows is Starz’s “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” and one of our favorite moments from the first two seasons is when Ash brings out his “Ashy Slashy” puppet.

If you’re like us and have been wondering when you could get your hands on an Ashy Slashy puppet of your own, today we have good news.

NECA has just announced its prop replica!

You can check out pics of the packaging reveal NECA did over on Facebook below, and then let us know if you’re going to be buying your very own Ash Slashy puppet.

We’ll let you know when the item becomes available for pre-order!

Rundown via NECA:
Every day can be demented play day with your very own Ashy Slashy puppet from Season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead! We’ve replicated Ash’s potty-mouthed little doppelganger from the asylum episodes for your (hopefully G-rated) entertainment.

This is a working puppet – insert your hand, and you can move the mouth; plus the arms are poseable thanks to inner articulation.

Ashy Slashy is approximately 15” tall.

Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Xenomorph Getting Their Own 8-Bit Pop Vinyls

Published

on

Funko has released some delightful horror-themed products over the years, but this just takes the cake. They’ve announced a new line of 8-bit Pop Vinyl figures, which will feature pixelated versions of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Xenomorph. I never thought I’d say it, but even Freddy Krueger looks cute.

Freddy and Jason will both come in standard editions, in addition to GameStop exclusives based on how they both appeared in their own NES video games. The Xenomorph will also have a Previews exclusive edition depicting it smeared with acid blood. Have a look at the images below to decide which versions you like best. Most of us would probably like to purchase all six!

These adorable (but still horrible) figures will be available in January, so make sure you don’t go bankrupt over Christmas.
