We’ve seen prototypes, rendered images, and teaser shots, but the time has come to sample the whole gooey enchilada! Get ready to dig on the first finished shots of McFarlane’s The Walking Dead Figures line!
McFarlane Toys is excited to raise the dead and introduce a new line of figures inspired by the hit comic book series The Walking Dead, which was adapted into a highly acclaimed AMC television series last October. The Walking Dead comic book series tells the story of the months and years that come after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by Officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home.
The Walking Dead Comic Series 1 figure lineup includes some of the most iconic characters from the book, along with some amazingly realistic, yet dead, zombie counterparts. Now let’s turn off the lights and hide under the blanket with a flashlight, while we take a closer look at this flesh-devouring lineup.
OFFICER RICK GRIMES
A small-town police officer shot in the line of duty, Rick Grimes awoke from a coma to find the world overrun by zombies. Searching for his wife and son, Rick found his missing family seeking refuge in a camp of survivors on the outskirts of Atlanta. His police background and natural leadership qualities earned him the respect of his fellow survivors, who soon looked to him as their new leader.
Not long after moving into the fortress-like prison, Rick and his group of survivors were approached by a mysterious visitor from the zombie wasteland. With sword in hand, and two leashed zombies in tow, Michonne came to the prison seeking safety and shelter. Little did she know — it would lead to her greatest enemy. Michonne survived the horrors of Woodbury, and her fearlessness and weapon proficiency quickly earned her a place as a trusted defender of the group.
To Rick’s group of survivors, there are two types of zombies. “Roamers” are the ones that actively wander around, while “Lurkers” remain still until disturbed by a living creature. Like a Lurker, this figure comes with a gory surprise, just waiting for a human to get too close – this zombie really has a problem keeping it together!
The only sure way to stop a zombie in The Walking Dead is to destroy its brain – and this figure illustrates that important fact in gruesome detail with exploding brain play action sure to both disgust and amaze!
The Walking Dead figures start walking onto shelves September 2011. So get ready to defend your toy collection from infection; otherwise, that Barbie might just be part of a zombie feast!

NECA Announces Ashy Slashy Puppet Replica
One of our favorite horror TV shows is Starz’s “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” and one of our favorite moments from the first two seasons is when Ash brings out his “Ashy Slashy” puppet.
If you’re like us and have been wondering when you could get your hands on an Ashy Slashy puppet of your own, today we have good news.
NECA has just announced its prop replica!
You can check out pics of the packaging reveal NECA did over on Facebook below, and then let us know if you’re going to be buying your very own Ash Slashy puppet.
We’ll let you know when the item becomes available for pre-order!
Rundown via NECA:
Every day can be demented play day with your very own Ashy Slashy puppet from Season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead! We’ve replicated Ash’s potty-mouthed little doppelganger from the asylum episodes for your (hopefully G-rated) entertainment.
This is a working puppet – insert your hand, and you can move the mouth; plus the arms are poseable thanks to inner articulation.
Ashy Slashy is approximately 15” tall.

Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Xenomorph Getting Their Own 8-Bit Pop Vinyls
Funko has released some delightful horror-themed products over the years, but this just takes the cake. They’ve announced a new line of 8-bit Pop Vinyl figures, which will feature pixelated versions of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Xenomorph. I never thought I’d say it, but even Freddy Krueger looks cute.
Freddy and Jason will both come in standard editions, in addition to GameStop exclusives based on how they both appeared in their own NES video games. The Xenomorph will also have a Previews exclusive edition depicting it smeared with acid blood. Have a look at the images below to decide which versions you like best. Most of us would probably like to purchase all six!
These adorable (but still horrible) figures will be available in January, so make sure you don’t go bankrupt over Christmas.
