This town has a doctor, and his name is Rendell. Stay away from his house cause he's the doctor from Hell. He killed all his patients, every last one, and cut out their hearts... purely for fun. So if you're from Moorehigh and you get sick, fall on your knees and pray you die quick.
Hello, kiddies! It's time for another installment of Dread Central's Six Slays of Christmas feature! We're now just four little days away from the year's biggest holiday season, and to celebrate the coming of Saint Nick (or whomever you believe in), we'll be taking a look at a different yuletide horror flick each day until the 25th! Think of it as a cinema crazed Advent calendar!
Now this ... this makes us very happy. The original hard-to-find classic flick Dark Night of the Scarecrow is finally ready to make its high definition debut, and we've got everything you need to know about what to expect right here!
We got a heads-up this evening from Dark Night of the Scarecrow writer J.D. Feigelson himself that due to huge international demand, there is going to be a 30th Anniversary Blu-ray release of the fan favorite film this coming October.
Many a modern horror fan will argue 'til they're blue in the face that horror movies have to be R-rated to be any good. I'm guessing most of them have never seen the genuinely eerie 1981 made-for-TV chiller Dark Night of the Scarecrow. A chance to correct that oversight arrives this fall when this classic scarecrow shocker returns to terrorize DVD players.
Our friends over at Horror Movie a Day, in association with Phil Blankenship and Amoeba Music, are re-implementing midnight screenings of some of their favorite flicks at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles, and on tap for this weekend (Saturday, December 12th to be exact) is the one, the only, Dr. Giggles.
Coming in a few days ahead of schedule, this year's Splattrax with special guest I-Mockery's Roger Barr is now live! We laughed, we cried, we tried to find ways to fit in Bill & Ted references thanks to bad hairstyles and eye-blistering fashion choices! All this and more can be yours if you just download the audio below and get yourself a copy of Dr. Giggles!
It's hard to fathom that a whole year has passed since our last Splattrax. So, to help ring in Samhain, we've teamed back up from Roger Barr of I-Mockery to bring yet another riffing. This time, we ordered a prescription ... of pain!
Now here's some truly great news. Deadpit.com's "Creepy Kentuckian" is reporting that the classic (and largely unseen by today's audiences) 1981 made-for-TV fright flick Dark Night of the Scarecrow is at long last getting the DVD treatment. About damn time!
