Lance Henriksen
With a career spanning five decades, Lance Henriksen is not a young man. But it's apparent from the trailer for It's in the Blood no one has told him this. Henriksen leaves everything in the woods for the high intensity film in which he battles his son, the elements and horrific creatures.
It seemed a natural fit scheduling a DVD release the same week as Wrestlemania for a movie designed like a pro wrestling PPV about monsters stepping into the ring to fight each other with a cast that includes several well-known names from the world of pro wrestling. Unfortunately, that March release date just marched all the way back to the summer.
A new trailer has come forth for the latest horror comedy coming our way, Gingerclown 3D, and it is about 1,000 times better than the first one that we got. Check it out!
Somewhere in the middle of all of the holiday madness of 2011, The Foywonder reported that
Monster Brawl (review here) would be hitting DVD in March of this year. As a quick follow-up to that tasty nugget of news, the official artwork has come our way! Dig it!
It seems only appropriate that with next year’s Wrestlemania slated for April Fool’s Day, a motion picture like Monster Brawl, starring several personalities from the world of professional wrestling that is patterned after a wrestling pay-per-view but with monsters stepping into a ring to fight it out, would get released on DVD the same week.
The folks behind Gingerclown 3D have released a slew of new goodies for the flick, including a poster, a special "Halloween Sneak Peek", and behind-the-scenes videos with co-stars Sean Young and Lance Henriksen.
"Not bad for a human." Do you recognize that voice on the Verizon Droid commercials? That is the voice of a badass. That is the voice of Lance Henriksen. And "Not bad for a human" is not only one of the more memorable lines ever delivered by the man, whose career has spanned a veritable library of film, it's also the name of his biography. And a full biography it is.
And in this corner coming in at about 600 pixels wide, a new bit of eye candy that sets up a true fight for the ages ... the international sales one-sheet for Anchor Bay Entertainment's Monster Brawl!
If you're a regular reader of Dread Central, then we don't have to tell you that actor Lance Henriksen is a true Hollywood (and horror) icon with well over 150 films to his name, including Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Terminator, Aliens, Near Dark, Damien: Omen II, Pumpkinhead, Scream 3 and dozens more genre films.
The Dog Who Saved Halloween is the third installment in the “Dog Who Saved” DVD franchise. The first was 2009’s The Dog Who Saved Christmas. That was followed last year with The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation. I assume next year’s sequel will be The Dog Who Saved Halloween Vacation.
Scream of the Banshee, the latest creature-feature offering from the After Dark Originals brand, comes to DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on 25 July, and to mark the release, we have three Blu-rays to give away!
Starring Lauren Holly, Todd Haberkorn, Leanne Cochran, Lance Henriksen
Directed by Steven C. Miller
For eight years Brian Krause was known to genre fans as Leo Wyatt from the WB series “Charmed.” While his portrayal of a good-natured whitelighter endeared him to millions worldwide, his latest performance in Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer is going to come as quite a shock.
In Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer, we are introduced to one of the more sinister and depraved sociopaths of the modern horror age. The mastermind behind the titular lunatic is writer/director Mark Vadik, who is about to see all of his hard work over the last few years come to fruition.
Here at Dread Central we're always in search of a good time. If the official trailer for the new rock 'em sock 'em monster mash Monster Brawl is any indication of what's to come, that's exactly what we're gonna get!
