Our friends over at Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with actor Keegan-Michael Key, who shared his perspective regarding Shane Black’s The Predator.

Key told EW: “Predator was a real privilege to do, and if people think they’re going to see a remake of the original movie, they’re in for a surprise. A very pleasant surprise. It’s not a sequel. [It has] lots of elements of humor. It certainly lives in the universe of the five films that were made. I think that’s probably the best way to say it and the only way I can say it right now.

The Predator stars Thomas Jane, Edward James Olmos, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski, Augusto Aguilera, and Keegan-Michael Key.

Black is directing from a script by Fred Dekker. John Davis, Joel Silver, and Lawrence Gordon — who produced the original — are producing. The Predator comes out August 3, 2018.
